Retro Bowl: two jobs, one season
Retro Bowl, from New Star Games, splits American football into the two halves that matter. In the front office you draft rookies, sign free agents, answer reporters after each game and keep a roster under a salary cap that never quite stretches far enough. On the field you play only the offense: every pass is a drag-and-release throw you aim yourself, every run is steered by hand, and the defense is simulated from the ratings you assembled upstairs.
The build on this page is the HTML5 version, hosted on this domain, so it loads when you press Play and does not depend on an outside host. Your save — the whole career, roster and record — lives in your browser’s storage on this device. Nothing installs and no account is needed, and quarter length is a setting in the options.
Controls & Mechanics
| Action | Control | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Throw | Click and drag away from the receiver, release | Right-click while aiming switches between a high and a low (bullet) pass |
| Run and side-step | Click the blue circle to hand off; W or S to side-step | To scramble, aim a throw backwards; then A or D slows up or dives |
| Kick | Two well-timed clicks | Field goals and extra points: set the power high, aim down the center |
Front office first
- Know what your quarterback’s ratings do: Throw accuracy sets how much of the aiming arc you see, strength sets his maximum range, and stamina decides how fast that range drops during a game.
- Spend on the training facility: Better training helps players gain XP faster. Rehab improves recovery from injury, and the stadium keeps fans happier after a win.
- Watch morale and condition: Poor morale can bring game penalties, and tired players fumble more. Resting a tired player boosts his morale.
Key Features
- Full management layer: Draft, free agency, trades, contracts, coordinators, facilities and post-game press interviews all feed into the team you take onto the field.
- Hand-thrown passes: Every throw is aimed and powered by you; the ball goes where you sent it, not where the AI decided.
- Hosted on this site: The game files are served from retrobowl911.com, not an ad-gated third-party frame.
